Pressure to marry nearly drives woman to suicide

A 28-year-old woman nearly attempted suicide apparently due to pressure from her family to get married, Legal Evening News reported.

The Shaanxi province woman, surnamed He, was planning to take more than 30 sleeping pills on Aug 30, but police dissuaded her from swallowing them after a discussion that lasted for more than an hour.

The report said she is currently in good physical condition.
