Scholars visit China's Party discipline headquarters

China has invited 7 domestic scholars and more than 50 international scholars to visit the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, or CCDI. The department heads and experts discussed China's efforts to battle corruption. An official from the supervision department briefed them on developments.

"The next move in the anti-corruption efforts mainly includes investigation of and crack down on illegal activities by Party members and officials, cases in key areas, key links, and also those affecting ordinary people. At the same time, we will strengthen international cooperation on anti-corruption efforts, devote greater efforts on recovering the goods. Never let the criminal get away," said Wang Huijie, Deputy Director of Department of Case Supervison and Management of CCDI.

Officials fielded other questions and briefed the guests on commission procedures.When asked about the former security chief Zhou Yongkang, Wang said the case is being carried out in accordance with the CPC Constitution and the Party regulations. The former member of the party's top leadership has been under investigation for serious disciplinary violations since July 29th.
