China and Tajikistan on Tuesday vowed to further enhance cooperation in law enforcement and security.

The pledge came out of a meeting between Chinese Security Chief Meng Jianzhu and Minister of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan Rakhimzoda Ramazon Hamro in Beijing.

Meng, head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said he hoped law enforcement departments of China and Tajikistan could further enhance mutual trust, and expand cooperation in the fight against "three evil forces" -- separatists, terrorists and extremists -- transnational crime, information exchange, and law enforcement training.

Rakhimzoda said the Tajikistan side will promote sound, stable and fast development of cooperation in law enforcement and security.

Meng also vowed to assist Tajikistan to ensure the security of the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to be held in September in Duschanbe.

Prior to the meeting, Minister of Public Security Guo Shengkun held talks with Rakhimzoda.

China's Ministry of Public Security and Tajikistan's Ministry of Internal Affairs inked cooperation documents in 2002. The two ministries also signed memorandums in 2012 and 2014 on cooperation in border areas and the fight against the "three evil forces."

The two sides also witnessed remarkable cooperation in anti-drug, events security and training. China's Ministry of Public Security has, up to this August, trained 329 officials for Tajikistan's law enforcement departments involving anti-drug, anti-terrorism, and exit-entry administration, according to the ministry.
