A number of historical residences formerly owned by emperors' concubines from the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) will be open to the public for the first time in October 2015, the Beijing News reported.

The concubines' residences are located at the west domains of the Palace, which housed China's imperial families from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) until the end of Qing Dynasty. The west domains of the Palace also feature the Tibetan Buddhist culture as it houses several halls of Buddha worshiping. At present, renovation projects are being carried out in the area.
