The Ming Tombs management office has started a project to repair seven cultural relics for the use of tourist attractions, the Beijing Youth Daily reported.

Repairs to the relics are expected to be completed by the end of 2014. The seven relics include the tombs of several emperors' concubines, the beacon of the Juyongguan section of the Great Wall, and the Ling'en Temple. Apart from the repair work, the office is also installing fire-fighting facilities at the Kang and Mao tombs, which are two of the six tombs now open to the public, to protect against possible damages to the relics. The Ming Tombs are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
