Major Beijing hospitals and disease control officers have received training to combat the deadly Ebola virus which caused 672 deaths in West Africa, one day after a suspected case in Hong Kong tested negative.

Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has been keeping an eye on spread of the virus and has given related training courses to doctors and disease control officers, said Pang Xinghuo, deputy director of the CDC, Beijing-based newspaper The Mirror reported Thursday.

The Hong Kong woman, who traveled to Kenya and showed signs of infection, was discharged from hospital Thursday, China Central Television reported.

Leading medical charity Doctors Without Borders warned the crisis will only get worse and said there was no overarching strategy to handle the world's worst-ever outbreak of the disease, AFP reoprted.

The outbreak of Ebola began in Guinea in February and has spread beyond its borders in West Africa. Paul Garwood, spokesman for the World Health Organization Wednesday told the Xinhua News Agency that there is no need for Chinese people to panic. The cumulative number of Ebola cases had reached 1,201 by July 23 in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone, Garwood added.
