Taiwan's opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) on Sunday held a plenary meeting with no conclusion reached on proposals to freeze the clause of "Taiwan independence."

The plenary meeting was the first since Tsai Ing-wen was reelected as the DPP chairwoman in May.

Tsai said that proposals to freeze or counter-freeze "Taiwan independence" clause will be delivered to the central executive committee, and DPP will convene plenary meeting to deal with the proposals if necessary.

Around 450 of the 567 DPP representatives attended the meeting and 30 central executive committee members were elected from 46 candidates.
