    14 prosecuted in N. Vietnam province following May riot

    A total of 14 people have been prosecuted for taking advantage of the May protests to steal assets, according to the police in Vietnam's northern Thai Binh province, state-run news agency VNA reported on Friday.

    Among those, 11 were prosecuted for charge of theft and three for charge of consuming stolen assets in China-invested Shengli steel company in Thai Binh province on May 14, said the police.

    Those seized in the case including computer central processing units, computer screens, laptops, motorbikes, oil pump machine, and electric motor among others.

    Thai Binh police are continuing the investigation of the case, the VNA reported.

    On May 13 and May 14, a series of riots hit foreign companies in Vietnam, leaving four Chinese nationals brutally killed, over 300 others injured, around 20 foreign factories burned down and some 1,100 foreign companies affected.
