Robber preys on elderly

Chaoyang prosecutors arrested a robber surnamed Li who would wait in banks until elderly people made large withdrawals, follow them outside, and then rob them, the Beijing Youth Daily reported.

Police say Li went into a bank on April 11 and spotted a 79-year-old man, surnamed Wang, who withdrew a large amount of cash. Li followed Wang into a residential compound, then robbed him and fled. Police say Li committed a similar robbery in March, targeting a 74-year-old man.
