At the Summer Palace in Haidian district, a replica of a pillar top with sculpted dragon patterns has been installed to replace the stolen original, the Beijing Morning Post reported.

The pillar is located at the Hanxu Temple, originally built in the Qing dynasty (1644-1911). There is no documentation of when the pillar was built. The pillar top was reportedly stolen in February, 2013. An employee with the management office of the park said that the replica is being installed for the purpose of keeping the temple view intact. The dragon patterns of the replica piece are more distinct than on the other pillars. The temple will reopen to the public by the end of this year.
