A high-speed railway tunnel under construction in northeast China's Jilin province collapsed early Wednesday, leaving 12 workers trapped inside, local authorities said.
The collapse happened at about 2am when workers were pouring concrete to reinforce the tunnel in Hunchun City.
An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
