Badachu renovations

In 2014, renovation will get underway on more than half the scenic spots at Badachu Park in Shijingshan district, which is well-known for its eight ancient Buddhist temples, the Beijing Daily reported.

Restoration projects for the Sanshan Nunnery, Xiangjie Temple and Baozhu Cave are expected to be completed in April 2014; none has been subject to large-scale renovation in several years. Another four projects will be started this year, according to district authorities.

Upgrades to the park are part of a plan to develop it into an area for culture and creative industries at the municipal level.
