Armored truck guards in Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong province returned to work on Wednesday after a one-day strike to demand a pay increase and better accommodation standards.

The guards were each given a 600 yuan ($98.97) raise, including 500 yuan salary and 100 yuan meal stipend.

Banking services were disrupted on Tuesday after more than 100 guards from Suibao Escort & Convoy went on strike. Suibao is said to be responsible for 90 percent of the cash delivery service in Guangzhou's financial institutions.
