600 lose family members at temple fairs

Nearly 600 people, including adults, lost family members during two major temple fairs in Beijing during Spring Festival.

At Longtan Temple Fair, more than 270 visitors became separated from family members from Jan 30 to Tuesday, China News Service reported on Wednesday.

At Ditan Temple Fair, about 300 people lost family members during the Spring Festival holiday, the report said.

In order to prevent such cases, staff members at Ditan Temple Fair have issued children with bracelets that have their parents' information.

Temple fairs were the most popular destinations during Lunar New Year in Beijing, with large numbers of tourists.

By Tuesday, Ditan Temple Fair had attracted 170,000 visitors while Longtan Temple Fair had drawn 155,000 visitors as of that afternoon.
