Easier French visas

Chinese visitors to France will receive a fast-track short-stay visa, Daniel Blaize, counselor of the French Embassy in Beijing, confirmed with the Global Times on Tuesday.

According to Blaize, starting from January 27, Chinese visitors who apply for a short-stay individual visa to travel to France will receive their travel document in 48 hours if their paperwork is complete.

The new visa policy is to celebrate the 50th anniversary of France establishing diplomatic relations with China.

Blaize added that a record 1.4 million Chinese visitors came to France in 2013.
