Movie star falls for telecom scam, loses 210k yuan

Lust, Caution star Tang Wei was swindled out of 210,000 yuan ($34,692) Saturday in a telecommunications scam, local media reported.

The Songjiang District Public Security Bureau confirmed that Tang filed a complaint Saturday, but a police press officer surnamed Zhou refused to comment further.

Tang, 34, fell victim to the scam while she was shooting a movie in Chedun town, the news portal xinmin.cn reported. A microblogger, who works as a teller at a Bank of Communications branch in Songjiang district, posted over the weekend that Tang registered a new bank card at the branch Saturday.

Tang's agent said that the scam didn't upset the star, who has continued to work on the film, according to a news report on qq.co
