Chinese policemen are a part of the UN peacekeeping forces in South Sudan. They are helping maintain order in refugee camps, as more and more people are flocking to UN camp-sites in Juba to take shelter from escalating violence. Their head Wu Qiang explains.

"In response to the request of the UN, Chinese peacekeeping policemen have been taking an active part in maintaining order in the refugees' camps. Some are conducting security checks. They are checking whether refugees are armed, to make sure no weapons enter the camps. In order to stop different groups from fighting, some Chinese policemen are carrying out patrols. Others are offering emergency aid for the injured," Wu says.
