Metro food ban reappears

A new draft of the rules for the city's metro passengers includes a ban on food, the local transportation authority said Monday.

The proposed revisions will prohibit passengers from eating on the subway trains, according to a draft of the Shanghai Metro Passenger Code that the Shanghai Municipal Transport and Port Authority posted on its website.

The authority will accept public comments on the new rules until Sunday.

A food ban was taken off the final version of the city's new metro regulations in November.
