Transportation app released

The Shanghai Municipal Transport and Port Authority released a smartphone application Tuesday for the city's public transportation system, xinmin.cn reported.

The application provides information about the city's 1,290 bus routes and 13 subway lines, plus a route search function. The app was designed for Android devices. An iPhone version will be available in the first half of next year.
