High-end business clubs Yishiliu were found to be operating in Beihai Park and Ditan Park, two sites that are on the national heritage protection list, reported China.org.cn. An anonymous worker with the park administration office responded that the exposure of the hidden clubs will not result in any changes.

In both parks, the Yishiliu business clubs are situated in choice locations. In Ditan Park, the Yishiliu club occupies approximately 10,000 square meters and uses historic sites such as Zhengguang Palace and Zhenghe Palace as its dining hall and offices. In Beihai Park, the Yishiliu club occupies Yushantang, a structure that was built in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). The regulations of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China prohibits the establishment of high-end clubs and exclusive restaurants in the parks as well as the use of cultural relic protection units for commercial purposes.
