The 2013 China-ASEAN Sports for All Development Forum opened Wednesday in Nanning, capital city of South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

The three-day forum will focus on traditional sports, according to the organizers.

"Sports for all has become a more important role in exchanges between China and ASEAN countries," said Rong Xiaoning, head of Guangxi Sports Bureau.

During the forum, Guangxi will host TAFISA (The Association for International Sports for All) Certified Leadership Courses in Sport for All, which aims to train and qualify national Sport for All leaders around the globe.

The Asia-Pacific Sports for All Association has also established a leadership training base in Nanning.

China and ASEAN have seen more exchanges and cooperation on sports in recent years, with the launch of a sports industry development forum, a martial arts summit, an ASEAN auto rally, a Tai Chi event, and exchange centers of sports information and human resources.

The forum was first held in 2011 and has since enhanced sports for all exchanges and cooperation between China and countries of ASEAN and the Asia Pacific region.
