Non-Communist parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, as well as people with no party affiliation can help deepen China's reforms, senior Communist Party official Ling Jihua has said.

Ling, head of the United Front Work Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the call at a meeting held by the department on Wednesday.

The department briefed non-CPC groups and individuals on the main points delivered at the just concluded Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee.

Ling asked non-CPC organizations to give top priority to deepening reforms in their work, and encouraged them to carry out research and field work studies on major reform subjects to help CPC in its decision-making.

The non-CPC groups were also asked to support the private sector and assist with its upgrading. They are also expected to use their overseas connections to help with the country's reform.

At the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee, which ran from Nov. 9 to 12, a decision on "major issues concerning comprehensively deepening reforms" was approved.
