Police in Henan province introduced ten measures to regulate investigating procedures, in a bid to improve law enforcement and avoid miscarriages of justice, China Youth Daily reported on Wednesday.

The measures include abolishing the detection quota, a system that placed police officers under enormous pressure to reach a pre-set target, the report said.

The provincial public security department said police must investigate all criminal cases by visiting the scene and gather evidence via recorders, according to the report.

In the future, the provincial police will be required to deal with cases online, which means all procedures have to be supervised by the public, the report added.
