1 dead, 8 injured after school bus overturns in NW China

One student was killed and other eight others injured after a school bus overturned on Sunday morning in northwest China's Gansu province, said traffic police.

At about 8 a.m. Sunday, a middle-school bus overturned on an ice-covered highway section from the Hezuo city to the Diebu county in Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Gannan, said local traffic police.

Two bus crew and 45 students of the Tibetan Middle School in the Hezuo city were on board the 49-seat bus.

The injured six students and two bus crew members have been sent to local hospitals.

Initial investigation shows that, the accident is caused by the icy road in the snowy weather.
