Knife attack on nurses by mentally ill patient

A mentally ill patient injured four nurses with a knife on November 1 at Huilongguan Hospital in Changping district. The nurses were treated at Jishuitan Hospital for injuries that are not life-threatening, the Beijing Times reported.

According to hospital staffers, one nurse was almost stabbed in the heart, while others were slashed in the face and arm. According to a doctor and a nurse at the hospital, such attacks are not uncommon but the hospital usually handles the situation in-house rather than calling the police.
