China, Ukraine hold cooperation meeting

The second meeting of the China-Ukraine Inter-government Cooperation Committee was held in Beijing on Tuesday, with both sides vowing to push forward their cooperation.

Chinese Vice Premier Ma Kai and Ukrainian First Vice Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov co-chaired the meeting.

Ma commended the healthy development of bilateral relations, featuring high-level mutual trust, deepened economic cooperation, rich cultural exchanges and close international cooperation.

He said the China-Ukraine Inter-government Cooperation Committee has played an important role in planning and coordinating bilateral cooperation in all areas.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views and reached many new consensus on deepening cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, agriculture, aerospace, science and technology, education, culture and health, said Ma.

He said China is ready to work with Ukraine to push for more progress in bilateral cooperation.

Arbuzov said, under the guidance of the China-Ukraine Inter-government Cooperation Committee, bilateral cooperation has achieved fruitful results.

Ukraine views China as an important strategic partner and is willing to further advance bilateral ties and enrich the content of bilateral cooperation, he added.

The two sides agreed to hold the third meeting of the cooperation committee in Ukraine in 2015.

The first meeting was held in Ukraine in April 2011.
