Chinese ambassador to Kenya, Liu Guangyuan, said on Sunday that the embassy will do everything it can to help Chinese victims of the terrorist attack on a shopping mall in Nairobi.

The ambassador asked doctors to do their best when visiting a 13-year-old Chinese boy who was injured during the Saturday attack and was just out of surgery at a local hospital.

The boy had three wounds on both legs, and burns on face and hands, according to the doctor, who managed to keep the boy stable. His mother was unfortunately killed in the attack.

Including the 38-year-old mother, at least 59 people were killed and 175 wounded when Al-Qaida-linked Somali militants stormed an upmarket shopping center in the Kenyan capital, according to the Kenyan government.

"You are not alone," said the ambassador to the victim's husband, promising assistance to his family.
