Chinese woman killed in Nairobi attack, embassy confirms

A Chinese businessman confirmed to Xinhua on Sunday that his friend, a Chinese female, was killed, and her child injured in the attack at the upscale shopping mall in Kenya's capital city Nairobi on Saturday.

The child is currently receiving treatment in hospital, said the businessman named Wang Cuo who works in Kenya. The Chinese Embassy in Kenya has confirmed the death.

The 38-year-old wife and 13-year-old son were shopping at the mall when the shooting broke out, said the husband, adding his son is going to receive a surgery.
