Toddler stabbed in Wangfujing

A 3-year-old girl survived after being stabbed by a man in Wangfujing on Saturday, the Beijing Times reported Sunday.

The suspect, 24, surnamed Huang, was detained by the police after he attacked the girl with a knife and then fled. The girl was taken to the hospital immediately by her mother and grandmother, who had tried to protect her but were unable to stop the attacker.

Although the girl sustained serious injuries in her left arm and neck, her situation remains stable. Her mother and grandmother said that they didn't know the man and have no idea why he attacked the girl. The case is under investigation.
