Scientists have fitted tracking collars to three Tibetan antelopes, in the Qiangtang Nature Reserve on the Tibetan Plateau.

Researchers at Sewu Snow Mountain managed to fit Beidou Satellite tracking collars to two female antelopes on Sunday. Earlier on Saturday, they fitted a tracking collar to another antelope. Protective measures have been adopted to ensure the safety of the animals.

The collars will be used to locate their whereabouts as they migrate, which will help in the study of the antelope's habits and their migration route. Thirteen more tracking collars will be fitted over the following days. Over 100-thousand expectant Tibetan antelope have so far arrived at the Sweet-water River and nearby Sewu Snow Mountain.
