China calls for dialogue on Korean Peninsula

China has said that it favors a quick resumption of talks between the DPRK and South Korea. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying stressed in a news conference that the time to do this is now.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Hua Chunying said, "We believe that this momentum for talks on the peninsula did not come about easily. We hope that the relevant parties can cherish and seize this opportunity and maintain the positive momentum for talks and contacts and work hard to keep pushing for a lessening of tensions between the north and south."
