Manned submersible Jiaolong completes test drive

Manned submersible Jiaolong has made its latest test dive. It will set off from Jiangyin port in Jiangsu province on Monday.

15 scientists on board will conduct a series of studies on the South China Sea and the Pacific Ocean seabed, including maritime biodiversity. It will return to China 110 days later.

In June last year, Jiaolong reached a depth of 7,062 meters in the Mariana Trench in the western Pacific.
