Rules issued to prevent judicial order disruptions

2013-05-24 09:09 Xinhua     Web Editor: Mo Hong'e comment

Police officers posted at people's procuratorial organs will be responsible for stopping any efforts to disrupt judicial order, according to a renewed set of regulations.

Protective restraint will be imposed by police officers on people, including petitioners, who attempt to injure or kill themselves at procurators' offices, according to the regulations.

The regulations were recently issued by the Supreme People's Procuratorate to replace previous regulations created in 1996, according to an SPP statement issued on Thursday.

The new regulations clarify the duties of judicial police officers in handling people whose behavior hinders procurators' lawful actions.

They also differ from the old regulations by including the officers' assistance in monitoring, arresting and searching for criminal suspects as part of the officers' duties.
