Quake has little impact on Sichuan tourism

As the May Day holiday approaches, Sichuan scenic spots are getting ready for the tourist crush. Tourism authorities say most of the favorite destinations were spared in the quake, and are prepared to welcome visitors from around the country and beyond.

Roads are clear to popular spots like Jiuzhaigou Valley, Mount Emeng, Mount Leshan and the ancient Dujiangyan Waterworks. Some places are even giving big discounts on tickets. Authorities have advised against travelling to Yaan city, where rebuilding is still underway.
