Favourite Sun Yang was in top form as he won the 400-meter freestyle final at the National Swimming Championship. It follows a highly publicised argument with his coach but the pair have made friends and are now making waves together in the pool again.
Sun's fell out with mentor Zhu Zhigen over the amount of time he spending away from training dealing with the publicity that comes with being an Olympic swimming champion. But the London gold medallist was only ever going to be the winner of this one, but the manner of victory was impressive, cheered on by a huge crowd, the 21-year-old recored the fastest time over eight lengths this year. three minutes, 42 point 93 seconds. Sun Yang, 400m freestyle winner of National Swimming Championship, said:"First of all, thanks to the fans for their support, and thanks to the media for coming. I am thankful for everyone who was worried about me. I'll train hard, I am still not swimming at 100-percent yet. My coach knows me, so I think I'll be better at the world championships."
