The Sri Lanka Immigration and Emmigration Department on Thursday deported two Chinese nationals who were amongst the seven Chinese women arrested recently for violating the country's visa regulation.
Immigration and Emmigration Controller General Chulananda Perera told Xinhua that while two Chinese girls were removed from the country on Thursday morning, another three are scheduled to be returned home late Thursday.
Chulananda said that investigation into the remaining two girls are continuing.
"The seven Chinese females were arrested with seven Thai girls. Most of them were employed while being on a visit visa in the island. While two Chinese girls were sent back to China this morning another three will be removed from the country this evening. The Department is conducting further investigation," Perera said.
The police and immigration officers in Sri Lanka arrested those 14 girls from China and Thailand following a raid in the capital last week.
The girls were arrested for being employed at two locations while in Sri Lanka on a tourist visa.
Meanwhile three Chinese nationals were arrested by the Customs Department at the Bandaranaike International Airport in possession of corals early on Thursday morning, police said.
