A top Communist Party of China (CPC) anti-corruption official on Monday vowed to fight corruption and use regulations to keep power in check.

Wang Qishan, secretary of the CPC's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, made the remarks while participating in a panel discussion with political advisors from two democratic parties at the ongoing annual session of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, the country's top political advisory body.

Wang said the CPC will keep on crackdowns on corruption and target corruption at both high and low levels of power.

Wang, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said all CPC organs and members should strictly enforce discipline.

Wang said punishing and preventing corruption are both important tasks and the key to the tasks is to restrict power and push for institutional building.
