Thousands of swans take refuge in Shandong province

Tens of thousands of swans are spending their winter in China's Rongcheng in Shandong Province, making it Asia's largest wintering ground for swans.

These migratory birds have been there for a few months already and will return north in the next few weeks in time for the mating season. For months, the swans have been storing energy for the long journey ahead. Photographers from Beijing, Liaoning Province and many other places have gathered here to take their final farewell shots of the swams, whose works have brought great attention to the protection of swans.
