Heavy snow blankets Anhui

Heavy snow has blanketed eastern China's Anhui Province, leading to travel disruptions.

Five expressways across the province have been closed, after a yellow alert was issued for blizzards and ice on the roads. Temperatures across the region have dropped by 8 degrees Celsius, taking overall temperatures to below zero in many cities. Anhui Province has been the hardest hit by the cold front, which has also swept through much of southern and eastern China.
