A family of three who was severely burnt by an electric bike on their way home has sued the bike and battery company in Tongzhou district court, the Legal Mirror reported Sunday.
The bike owner, surnamed Zhang, said he took his 2-year-old daughter and wife home on the electric bike on July 5, 2011, when it suddenly exploded and burnt the family. Zhang bought the bike from a secondhand market in Tongzhou district, and did not have a receipt. No verdict was handed down.
