This year's Valentine's Day falls during the Spring Festival holiday. Many young people have chosen to get together with their families rather than spending time alone with their loved ones. CCTV reporter Hou Na went to find out what's this year's new trend on Valentine's Day.

It's time to show your love and affection. Red roses, white lilies and purple flowers. They say if you fall in love with the right person, everyday is Valentine's Day.

But when Valentine's meets the Chinese New Year, more people choose to spent the time with their families rather than spending it alone with their loved ones.

"Roses are much cheaper than last year. The prices have dropped by 75 percent. Because of the new year celebration, there are fewer customers than last year."

A single rose costs only around five yuan. Last year could be as much as fifteen. Vendors say that's because fewer people are buying them during the spring Festival holiday compared with last year's Valentine's Day.

Roses are definitely the best choice for your loved ones on Valentine's Day. But this year, Valentine's falls during the spring festival holiday, so the prices of the roses are lower than the previous years...But not for this one--this single piece costs for more than one hundred and fifty yuan. guess why?

They're called perpetual roses for a reason. They can be kept fresh for more than two years because of special technology that makes it possible. They may cost more than 150 yuan each, but they're still popular among young people because they symbolize long-lasting love..

"I chose lilies for my wife because it's her favourite and we had lunch at the place we met. It's a happy occasion for both of us."

Valentine's day is not just for the love birds. Single people can also enjoy the fun it has brought with their family. or maybe, find a date or express feelings to someone they had a crush on. After all, Valentine's is a time to say love aloud.
