AIDS deaths rise in China

China's health authority announced on Wednesday that 17,740 AIDS-related deaths were reported in the country from January to October this year, a year-on-year increase of 8.6 percent.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) said the latest figures show that there are 34,157 AIDS patients in China in the ten-month period.

As those living with HIV have become AIDS patients over time,AIDS-related deaths are on the rise, according to the MOH.
