The construction of the largest parking lot in western Beijing started Sunday to help relieve traffic congestion in areas near the Chinese PLA General Hospital (301 Hospital) in Haidian district, the Beijing Evening News reported.
The project, to the northeast of Wukesong Bridge, will cost 1.1 billion yuan and contain 3,000 parking spaces. It is expected to be completed by November 2014.
There will be connecting tunnels to both the hospital and to Subway Line 1.
