    Tony Cragg: Sculptures and Drawings

    The 63-year-old artist Tony Cragg has been involved in the art world since the 1970s. In 1988 he won the Turner Prize and he is the first living artist to be given a solo exhibition at the Louvre in Paris (2010). Currently, 177 works by Cragg, including 50 sculptures and more than 100 drawings, are on display in Shanghai as a part of UK Now festival.

    Shanghai Dream: Zhou Xuan

    This dance drama is the first-ever piece that uses body language to depict the legendary life of Zhou Xuan, the well-known star of Shanghai's stage and silver screen in the 1930s. Following the ups and downs of Zhou's life, the show has a glimpse of the dark and glamorous Shanghai with city memories of that era creating a conflict between the character and the times she lived in.

    Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan

    The renowned choreographer Lin Hwai-min, the founder of Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan, established Cloud Gate 2 in 1998, as Cloud Gate reached its 25th anniversary. The new dance company provides a platform for young choreographers and after 13 years of development, four choreographers from Cloud Gate 2 have won awards internationally. The dance group toured the US in February and made its debut in Europe in August. The Shanghai performance is one of the stops on the company's Chinese mainland tour which began in Beijing in late October. They will perform mixed programs with some of their signature works including Wicked Fish, The Wall and Tantalus.

    San Francisco Symphony 2012 Shanghai Concert

    Last year, the San Francisco Symphony (SFS) celebrated its centenary. Since early times, the SFS has been regarded as one of the most prestigious orchestras in the world. It has won a Grammy award for its Mahler cycle of works. The SFS's Shanghai concert will be joined by 25-year-old pianist, Wang Yujia, who has already performed with many of the world's best orchestras including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, and the SFS since her 2005 debut with the National Arts Centre Orchestra led by Pinchas Zukerman. For these shows in Shanghai under the baton of Michael Tilson Thomas, the music director of SFS, they will perform Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2, American composer, Lou Silver Harrison's "The Family of the Court" from Pacifika Rondo and Mahler's Symphony No. 5.
