China's central government organs have become more transparent in regards to administrative information since 2009, according to a report released Friday.

The report on the government's administrative information transparency states that 33 of the 42 organs under the State Council, the central government, have grown more transparent, as their assessment scores have showed increases three years in a row.

The report was carried out by the Center for Public Participation Studies and Supports (CPSS) of Beijing University.

The CPSS assessed the organs' transparency by scoring categories such as organization and active and passive information publishing.

In the 2011 assessment, the scores of 38 central government organs showed progress year on year, the report said.

The report said the trend revealed that the central government organs have been boosting the transparency of their work.

Wang Xixin, director of the CPSS, said that in addition to the efforts made by the central government, social organizations and individuals, including media, scholars and the public, were strong forces in promoting the transparency of government information.
