More than 100 websites based in cities across China on Tuesday jointly launched a campaign to search for role models among ordinary people.
The event, named "love circles around in 100 cities," aims at utilizing the Internet and other new media to discover and spread the good deeds in society.
According to organizers, once grassroots role models with their good deeds are found, news and commercial websites will carry their stories.
The campaign is intended to search for more "good Samaritans" to help strengthen main-stream values in cyberspace.
Chinese media and Internet users have disapproved at the lack of morals in contemporary society in light of multiple scandals and controversial incidents that have occurred in recent years, many of which have been revealed online.
