China, EU sign cooperation deals

China and the EU have signed a slew of important cooperation deals.

They are reportedly including the set-up of an official platform to boost the innovation sector, and a cooperation memorandum on executing an anti-monopoly law to promote communication in competition legislature, especially in the area of anti-trust.

There are also deals between China and the EU on lower carbon emissions, urbanization and sustainable development. The European Commission said that the EU will work with China to cut greenhouse gases through projects including the development of Chinese emissions trading schemes.
