2 dead, 3 buried in construction site collapse

A collapse in a construction site in northwest China's Shaanxi Province on Wednesday has left two workers dead, local authorities have said.

As of 3 p.m., three people were still buried in the debris after the accident happened at about 10 a.m. at a carpet factory building under construction in Yulin City, trapping 18 workers, according to the city government.

Rescuers pulled 15 workers out of debris, two of whom died later while the rest sustained slight injuries, and the rescue work is still going on.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
