Nine members from a rightist Japanese group landed on China's Diaoyu Islands on Sunday, the Kyodo news agency reported.
A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman has said that any unilateral action taken by Japan on the Diaoyu Islands is illegal and invalid.
