China, Costa Rica celebrate 5th anniversary of diplomatic ties

A reception was held on Monday in Beijing to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Costa Rica.

Lin Yi, secretary general of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, said at the reception that relations between China and Costa Rica have seen smooth progress since the two countries forged diplomatic ties.

"Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China-Costa Rica ties have featured strengthened political exchanges, expanding pragmatic cooperation and fruitful cultural exchanges," Lin said.

Costa Rica's Ambassador to China Marco Vinicio Ruiz and representatives from the Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Culture and International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) also attended the reception.
